After stepping down as Acting Chancellor on August 15, 2004 Senior Vice Chancellor Marsha Chandler will be on leave for 2004-05. She will be spending the year at Harvard University. I am pleased to advise you that David Miller will continue for 2004-05 as the Acting Senior Vice Chancellor- Academic Affairs.

I know that the entire campus will join with me in sincerely thanking Marsha Chandler for her steadfast commitment to serving UCSD and especially for her outstanding leadership over the last year. We are grateful as well for David Miller's willingness to shoulder his current responsibilities as we continue to pursue the academic vision set by President Dynes and Senior Vice Chancellors Chandler and Miller.
