UCSD-sponsored HERC Launches Employment Web site: www.socalherc.org

We are pleased to announce the launch of the employment Web site of the Southern California Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC): www.socalherc.org. UCSD Academic Personnel Services is the founder of the Southern California HERC, a collaborative effort among 23 Southern California colleges and universities dedicated to recruiting and retaining highly qualified faculty and staff.

The HERC Web site is the only comprehensive employment Web site in Southern California where job seekers can view both academic and staff job opportunities in higher education. The site represents a tremendous advance for those seeking careers in a college or university setting. In the past, job seekers needed to contact employment sites at individual campuses to stay abreast of these employment opportunities.

Job seekers have free access to the HERC employment Web site and all of its features, including the "My Jobs" tool that automatically sends e-mails to potential applicants when jobs are posted that meet their search criteria.

UCSD views HERC as a valuable recruitment and retention tool. The HERC employment Web site will provide more visibility for UCSD as an employer of choice and will offer job seekers the opportunity to learn about job opportunities at UCSD and at other colleges and universities in the region.
