SUBJECT:    Proposed Changes to APM 200-22 - Recall Policy

The University invites comments on the proposed revisions to the Recall policy, APM-200-22.

The proposed new Guidelines for Faculty Recalled for Post-Retirement Teaching would apply to faculty who are age 60 or above and who have at least five years of UCRP service credit at the time the recall appointment is negotiated. The proposed changes outlined in these guidelines address the maximum duration of the recall appointment and the suggested recall salary rates. These guidelines would be added to the Academic Personnel Manual as APM-200, Appendix A. The UCRP Reappointment Guidelines for Rehired Retirees have been added as Appendix B.

The proposed revisions to policy, which would apply to all academic appointees, are available on the Web at:

Please review the revised policy and send any comments to Director of Academic Personnel Tricia Takacs at ttakacs@ucsd.edu no later than Monday, October 18, 2004.
