The growth and success of UCSD depend upon the staff who support the research, teaching, clinical, and community activities of the campus. New Web-based tools and technology developed at UCSD will help us meet the challenges we face and sustain the excellence that this campus has achieved.

Sharecase -- with a surfing theme this year -- is returning March 23 to give us a look at the newest technology developments for staff. Sharecase 2005, co-hosted by the UCSD Middle Management Council and Business Affairs, is a daylong event at the Price Center that will include live demonstrations of exciting new tools and features, including:

* MyFunds: Reporting for PIs and Fund Managers
* UCSD Marketplace
* MyTravel: Reporting Travel Expenses Online
* Getting Rid of Spam
* What's New with Campus-wide Sign-On
* Web Topics, Online Calendaring and much, much more

When you visit the Sharecase 2005 Web site at http://sharecase.ucsd.edu you will find over 60 presentations. Come join us in the exhibit hall for demonstrations and great ideas from vendors and campus service providers, along with giveaways and a free lunch for registered attendees.

I encourage supervisors to release staff to attend job-related presentations as work permits. This is a wonderful development opportunity for attendees to obtain information on a variety of topics.
