Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk

As Chancellor of UCSD, I am delighted to invite you to join me and the UCSD community in the Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk for Scholars on Friday, October 21, 2005. This year we celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of the Chancellor’s Challenge. Since its inception, the Chancellor's Challenge has had a direct impact on the lives of students by raising more than $1.25 million for more than 550 scholarships.

Chancellor's Challenge participants may run or walk the 5K course. This year’s challenge is that I will personally donate $5,000 if the total number of registrants exceeds 1,500. I am sure we can meet that goal!

The Chancellor's Challenge 5K Run/Walk will start at 12:15 p.m. from the North Campus Field, adjacent to RIMAC, and continue along a course that weaves through campus. Please contact Dave Koch at (858) 822-5260 to discuss requests for alternative accessibility arrangements or accommodations.

Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. and there will be warm-up exercises at 11:45 a.m. led by recreation’s own Alexia Cervantes.
