Inauguration of Chancellor Fox

Dear Colleagues,

Some weeks ago, I wrote to encourage you to participate in the inauguration of Marye Anne Fox as our chancellor on Thursday, March 3, at 10:00 a.m. in the RIMAC Arena. Classes will be in session, and I realize that many of you will be teaching at that hour. But for those who are available, I hope that you will join us in this academic pageant. It is a rare collective opportunity to celebrate campus spirit and a determination that UCSD's future will be even greater than our past. It is also the least we can do to demonstrate faculty support for our distinguished new chancellor.

There will be free food, afterwards.

If you are available and have not already responded, please do so without delay. If you do not have your own regalia, these may be obtained AT NO COST TO YOU from the Bookstore. Just click on the following link: http://bookstore.ucsd.edu/friends/cag/index4.htm. Regalia ordered from the Bookstore will be available in the Green Room at RIMAC beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Academic Procession for the Inauguration will form from the Green Room at 9:30 a.m.

Please do not think that your presence or absence is of no consequence. This is an event that ought to include all of us.
