Mail Services Rate Increase

April 1, 2005 begins the second year of a three year phase-in of necessary increases to rates for the departmental delivery of inter-departmental and other mail. This rate adjustment, approved last year by the UCSD Recharge Rate Review Committee, is necessary to phase-out the subsidy of inter-departmental mail deliveries by postage on out-going mail.

The new monthly delivery rate effective April 1, 2005, is $47 per mail code, for one mail delivery between 8 and 11 am per day.

The rate for two deliveries per day is $94 per month. The rate for more than two deliveries or for any regular or recurring deliveries or pick-ups scheduled after 2:30 pm is $141 per month. We are committed to keeping these rate increases as low as possible. Over the past year we have made significant gains in improving our processes and we have reduced overall expense by 11%. We will continue to streamline our processes and provide you with the level of service you expect.
