Appointment of Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor-Student Life

As many of you know, Carmen Vazquez has resigned as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life to accept the position of Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of San Diego. We are deeply indebted to Carmen for her invaluable service and wise counsel as Assistant Vice Chancellor of Student Life. We will miss her both as a colleague and as a friend.

Effective July 11, 2005, Gary Ratcliff has agreed to serve as Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor while we conduct a national search for Carmen's replacement. Since August, 2000, Gary has been Director of University Centers, with responsibility for all aspects of their operations and programs. He holds a Masters of Education from the University of Maryland and a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the Pennsylvania State University at University Park.
