GENERAL CAMPUS LADDER RANK FACULTY

SUBJECT:    Dine-with-a-Prof Program

I am pleased to announce the continuation of the Dine-with-a-Prof Program for the 2006-2007 academic year. This program, sponsored by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, seeks to increase interactions between UCSD students and faculty outside of the classroom and seems to have been quite successful last year.

How does it work?

One or two students may invite a faculty member to lunch at the UCSD Faculty Club and will work out the details of the time and date for you to meet. The student(s)will have obtained the appropriate meal card from the Dean of Student Affairs within their college; however, the meal card may be redeemed only by the faculty member with the student(s) as guest(s); i.e. you must be the one to check in at the Faculty Club with the students.

At the end of each quarter, the participants (both student and faculty) will be asked to participate in a short evaluation of the program. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please contact Renee Barnett Terry, Dean of Student Affairs at Revelle College, at rbarnett@ucsd.edu or 4-1578.

I would like to thank you for participating in this program when asked by a student. We believe that participation in programs like this can greatly improve the campus climate for both students and faculty.
