Research Compliance Coordinator

The conduct of research is one of the core missions of the University of California. As research activities at UCSD have increased, risk associated with ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations for the conduct of research has increased proportionately.

At present, UCSD has established effective key processes and systems that support research compliance in a highly decentralized environment. With the upcoming consolidation of several research support units under the Vice Chancellor for Research, and in response to a recommendation from UCSD’s office of Audit and Management Advisory Services, I am appointing Marianne Generales, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research to assume responsibility for oversight of Research Compliance at UCSD.

Marianne’s responsibilities will include serving on the systemwide Research Compliance Committee and working with campus units that have specific research compliance activities to ensure UCSD has an overall coordinated effort for compliance, accountability, reporting, and training.
