UCSD Staff Associations Annual “All Staff Picnic”

I am pleased to invite you to attend the annual “All Staff Picnic,” sponsored by the 11 UCSD staff associations, to be held on Friday, August 18, 2006, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Sun God Lawn. This year’s event, which will feature a free luncheon catered by UCSD Catering, will include the 24th annual Vice Chancellors’ Volleyball Tournament (Contact Ed Abeyta, at eabeyta@ucsd.edu), the perennial cakewalk, games, arts and crafts vendor fair, music, and food.

Everyone is welcome, but you must register for the no-charge lunch in advance on Blink at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/picnic.

La Jolla Symphony and V Rox will provide music, and we encourage you to bring a blanket to sit in the grass and enjoy the festivities. You also will have the opportunity to visit the tables of various organizations to find programs of interest to staff, including La Jolla Playhouse, UCSD Department of Theatre & Dance, Flexcar, and UCSD Employee Rehabilitation Program.

In order to attend the event, I am approving two hours of administrative leave with pay, and I encourage supervisors to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
