Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award Program

I am pleased to announce the nomination period for the twenty-second annual UCSD Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award Program. The program recognizes career employees in Professional and Support Staff (PSS) positions who have demonstrated distinguished service and contributions to the UCSD and San Diego communities.

All members of the campus community are encouraged to nominate and/or endorse the nominations of their staff colleagues who are deserving of this special acknowledgment. The deadline for receipt of nominations is 4:30 p.m. on Friday, February 16, 2007. Nomination forms, program guidelines, and submission instructions are available online:

A review panel consisting of representatives chosen by the Vice Chancellors and the Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Center will evaluate all eligible nominations and recommend 10 award recipients to Chancellor Marye Anne Fox. The employees will be recognized as follows:

* one award of $2,500 for the Principal Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year

* nine awards of $1,500 for Exemplary Staff Employees of the Year.

On May 14, 2007, Chancellor Fox will present awards and gifts to each recipient during the annual Exemplary Staff Employee of the Year Award ceremony. The awardees' names will also be inscribed on the perpetual plaque, which is displayed in the Human Resources Department reception area.
