Our Commitment to the UCSD Principles of Community

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday and in recognition of the inspiring team work demonstrated by so many members of the UC San Diego community during the recent wildfires, this is an especially appropriate time to reaffirm UC San Diego's commitment to the Principles of Community.

UC San Diego is represented by diverse races, creeds, cultures, and social affiliations that join together for the good of the University and the communities we serve. The Principles of Community reflect UC San Diego's expectation of how we will interact with one another and those we serve. Additionally, the Principles of Community proclaim our value for the unique contributions of all members of the UC San Diego community. By working together with mutual respect, awareness, and open communication, we can sustain and enhance the excellence of our institution.

Creating and sustaining an environment of respect, civility and open communication requires the ongoing commitment of each member of the UC San Diego community.
