Health and Wellness Expo

The first annual UCSD Health and Wellness Expo is scheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2007 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Price Center Ballroom. Information about the Expo can be found at the following link:

This special event is designed to highlight provisions of the "UC Living Well" systemwide wellness initiative and will include an array of activities and exhibits that support healthy living. A wealth of information regarding the availability of various UCSD resources that support wellness will be included.

The annual open enrollment period for 2008 offers new plan options and other enrollment opportunities. Members are encouraged to attend the Expo to obtain the latest information directly from health and welfare plan carriers, who will be available to answer questions during the Expo.

In recognition of the Health and Wellness Expo, I am approving one hour of administrative leave with pay that employees may apply to their attendance at the Expo. Supervisors may allow one hour of release time for staff to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties.
