Comment Period Extended to Review PPM 510-1 Section IX,

Speech, Advocacy and Distribution of Literature Recently we asked the campus community to review and comment on proposed revisions to the policy on use of university properties, Policy 510-1. We received a number of comments asking that we extend the period for review on the proposed revisions. Therefore, we are extending the period for comments on the policy until December 1, 2007.

The proposed revisions have been under development for several years, and we feel it is appropriate to not rush the process to review the proposed revisions. There will be no changes to this policy without full campus review in the Fall. We will send out a reminder at the beginning of the Fall 2007 quarter to review the proposed revisions to this policy and hold an open forum on Policy 510-1 and the proposed revisions in October.

Because membership on the PPM 510-1 Review Committee has decreased over the years, we will seek additional student and faculty representation on the Committee.
