UC Staff Diversity Council - Open Forum

In March 2007 President Dynes appointed the University of California Staff Diversity Council. The Council, comprising representatives from each of the UC campuses in addition to others that represent various constituent groups within UC, is chaired by Associate President Linda Morris Williams and reports directly to President Dynes. The Council will hold an open forum in which you are invited to learn about the current and ongoing efforts of the Council and to engage in conversation about staff diversity efforts within the University of California. The open forum will be held:

TIME: Noon to 1:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Price Center Ballroom A

In recognition of this event, I am approving 90 minutes of administrative leave with pay that employees may apply to their attendance at the forum. Supervisors are asked to allow employees 90 minutes of administrative leave with pay to participate, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.

I encourage your participation in this important dialogue. Through this discussion, the Council hopes to gather information that will maintain UC's reputation as the number one public research and teaching University, and continue our goal of imbedding diversity into our core mission of teaching, research, and public service as we pursue equal access and inclusion for all Californians.
