SUBJECT:	Announcement on the Appointment of Jon Carlos Senour
	as Director for Student Legal Services (SLS)

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Carlos Senour, Esq., as the Director of Student Legal Services as of January 7, 2008. He will serve as the campus contact for all student-related legal counseling, legal education and prevention matters.

Jon Carlos is originally from San Bernardino, California, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2002. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in psychology (A.B., 1995), and earned his law degree from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law (J.D., 2001). He is a member of the State Bar of California and the Alternative Dispute Resolution, Labor and Employment, and International Law Sections of the San Diego County Bar Association.

Jon Carlos brings a variety of professional and world experience to the position. His legal practice prior to arriving at UCSD involved many areas of law, including labor/employment, landlord-tenant, immigration, intellectual property, bankruptcy, family/domestic, contract, discrimination/harassment, tax, business/commercial, and international law among others. Jon Carlos’s practice included preparing legal documents such as real estate agreements, employment handbooks and contracts, and settlement agreements. He has represented clients in a variety of arenas, including mediation, arbitration, general civil litigation, and has utilized his training in alternative dispute resolution to negotiate and settle claims and disputes.
