SUBJECT:	Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Diversity
	Award Nominations

I am please to announce the 2008 Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action and Diversity Awards Program. The program has been designed to recognize staff, faculty, students, departments or organizational units and other members of the UC San Diego community who have made an outstanding contribution in the areas of equal opportunity, affirmative action or diversity at UC San Diego during the past year.

Therefore, all members of the campus and healthcare community are invited and encouraged to nominate UCSD community members who are deserving and meet certain criteria.

A review panel of representatives chosen by the Vice Chancellors and me will evaluate all eligible nominations and make their recommendations to me. Accordingly, I will recognize and present awards to all of the recipients during the annual ceremony to be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Price Center West Ballroom.
