December 2, 2008 Meeting

Dear Colleagues:

Our second meeting of the 2008-09 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2 at 3:30 p.m., in the Center for Molecular Genetics Conference Room. The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found on the Senate's Web page at: http://www-senate.ucsd.edu/assembly/agenda/current.htm

The Assembly will elect two individuals from among its membership to serve as representatives to the Senate Council. The Senate Council oversees the functioning of the Division, determines the agenda for meetings of the Representative Assembly, and is empowered to take action for the Assembly in emergencies. If you intend to make a nomination from the floor, please make sure in advance that the person is willing to serve. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS: Professor Joel Dimsdale, Chair of the Committee on Faculty Welfare, will update the Assembly on current issues regarding the University of California Retirement Plan. Professor Stephen Constable, Chair of the Committee on Educational Policy, will discuss the Policy on Distance and Online Learning.
