2009 NSF Mentoring Requirement for Postdoctoral Scholars

Effective January 5, 2009, NSF proposals that request funding to support postdoctoral scholars must include, as a separate section within the 15-page project description, a description of the mentoring activities that will be provided to the postdoctoral scholar. Proposals that do not include this separate section on mentoring within the Project Description will be returned without further review. In addition to mentoring activities that already take place in individual laboratories, there are resources available to assist PIs in fulfilling this new requirement that may be viewed at the following website:
