SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT - RIMAC Annex & Women's Softball
Field Improvements

Project Description/Location

The RIMAC Annex & Women's Softball Field Improvements project includes the construction of a multipurpose facility immediately north of the present RIMAC building with associated sitework, landscaping and new bleachers complete with a wheelchair lift. Approximately 14,000 gross square feet in size, the building will include lounges, conference rooms, coffee bar and café and outdoor seating. The work also includes sports improvements, associated structures and sitework including, but not limited to a new softball field, repositioning of the existing backstop, new dugouts, and associated services.

Immediate Street Impacts

Beginning in early March 2008 and continuing until July of 2009, vehicular traffic around the site and on adjacent streets will be impacted at times to accommodate construction activities and utility installations. There will be occasions when John Hopkins Road and North Point Drive will be impacted due to heavy construction traffic. During these times, flagmen will be present to direct traffic. Pedestrian sidewalks adjacent to the project site will remain open throughout the duration of the Project. Additional alerts will be issued throughout the construction period to update the campus as needed.
