Search for a New UC President

I am pleased to inform the UC San Diego community that the committee conducting the search for the next University of California President is recommending to the Board of Regents that Mark G. Yudof, currently head of the University of Texas system, be appointed to lead the UC system, Chairman of The Regent's and search committee chair Richard C. Blum announced today.

It was my privilege to work closely with Mark at the University of Texas at Austin while he served as Executive Vice President and Provost and I served as Vice President for Research. I can assure you that Mark Yudof is a distinguished scholar and holds dear the values that we Californians cherish. We are very fortunate.
