SUBJECT:	UC San Diego Reaffirmation of Accreditation by the
	Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

The University of California, San Diego is hosting a site visit in connection with its reaffirmation of accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) on March 12-14, 2008.

On March 13, 2008, the visiting team will conduct the following open meetings with students, staff, and faculty in order to provide an opportunity for informal input from the campus community:

Tenured Faculty Forum: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
(Conference Room 111A, Chancellor's Complex)

Junior Faculty Forum: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
(Conference Room 111A, Chancellor's Complex)

Student Forum: 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
(Gallery B, Price Center West)

Staff Forum: 3:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
(Conference Room 111A, Chancellor's Complex)

Understanding that not everyone who may wish to participate can attend these meetings, the WASC team is hosting a confidential email site so that persons from the campus community can communicate with the team regarding their experience with the institution. The comments are sent directly to the team chair and are not viewed by any representative of UCSD. Individuals who which to communicate with the visiting team are encouraged to do so.

Institutional reports, on-campus interviews, open sessions, and email responses received become part of the information collected and reviewed by the team. Team members will not respond individually to comments provided through any of these venues, including those made through the confidential email account. This input, along with other forms of information, will be considered as the team undertakes its work and develops recommendations to the institution. Only comments received prior to and during the site visit dates will be considered as part of the review process.

Students, faculty, and staff may communicate directly to the team via this email address that has been created by WASC for this use only. The site will be terminated at the end of the visit. The team will have private access to this information through the use of a password as provided by WASC staff.

You are encouraged to participate in our institutional reaffirmation of accreditation by either attending one of the four open meetings or by communication through the WASC mailbox.
