ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD ALL STUDENTS AT UCSD
During the months of April and May, UC San Diego is celebrating Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritages. This year's theme is “Building Bridges, Maintaining Visibility, Exploring Identities, and Creating Consciousness.” This year's celebration includes: Elizabeth Yamada: Reflections on the Japanese Internment on May 7 at noon at the Price Center Davis/Riverside Room. Hidden Voices: The Lives of LGBT Muslims on May 7 at 5:00 p.m. at Mandeville Center East. For more information on the celebration, please visit: http://ccc.ucsd.edu/Photos/enews/springroles.jpg I am approving two hours of administrative leave with pay so that employees may participate in a UC San Diego Spring Roles activity, and I ask supervisors to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care. I would like to thank the members of the UC San Diego Asian and Pacific Islander American Planning Committee for their work to coordinate these educational and celebratory campus activities. Please join me and the UC San Diego Asian and Pacific Islander American Planning Committee, special guests, visitors and me, as we collectively and publicly celebrate the legacy and contributions of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.
