SUBJECT:    Research Cyberinfrastructure Design Team Survey

As you know, the campus's use of and need for research cyberinfrastructure (computing systems, data storage systems, advanced instruments and data repositories, visualization environments, high-speed networks) is growing rapidly in virtually all areas of scholarship. In order for the campus to make the wisest investments to best serve your current and projected research cyberinfrastructure needs, the Office of Research Affairs has formed a Design Team that is co-chaired by Michael Norman and Phil Papadopoulos.*

The Design Team has been charged with identifying the best technological architecture to create a world-class research cyberinfrastructure for UCSD. The Design Team urgently needs your input to obtain a sense of where we are as a campus with regard to research cyberinfrastructure and what investments the campus should consider making in the near future. To assist the Design Team, if you use research cyberinfrastructure or plan to do so, please complete the survey at http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/?p=WEB227MKW5D476 by Friday, April 11.

Thank you for your help in providing this important information.
