RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & PLANNING January 7, 2009
ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (excluding UCSD Medical Center)
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Gregory as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategic Campus Resource Initiatives, effective immediately. In this role, Brian will provide executive leadership for Resource Management and Planning (RMP), including fostering collaboration and teamwork on various campus initiatives such as the J. Craig Venter Institute, Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine, La Jolla Playhouse theaters, and University House, among others. Brian will also lead two areas that work closely together: Physical/Environmental Planning and Community Planning. Brian joined UCSD in 1999 as the Director of Capital Planning and most recently was the Director of Resource Planning for RMP. Prior to UCSD, he served the Arizona Board of Regents as the Assistant Executive Director for Capital Resources and Auditing Services. He also has worked in Washington D.C. as a statistician at the National Center for Education Statistics and as a research analyst in the department of Institutional Research at Arizona State University. Brian earned degrees from Arizona State University (B.S. finance 1982; M.Ed. secondary education 1987; Ph.D. educational leadership and policy studies 1992) and the State University of New York at Buffalo (M.B.A. 1984). Currently, Brian is seeking a certificate of Healthcare Leadership through UCSD Extension. Brian has an outstanding ability to integrate his past experiences and education with a refreshing “can do” attitude. His willingness to address the challenges that we face and arrive at positive solutions have been a hallmark of his career. Please join me in congratulating Brian as he begins this new role for the UCSD community.
