SUBJECT:    New and Revised Academic Personnel Policies

The University has issued the following new and revised Academic Personnel Policies:

APM 110-4 – Academic Personnel Definitions

This section has been revised to add a definition for domestic partner to academic personnel definitions.

APM 230-17 – Visiting Appointments

This section has been revised to allow for a total period of consecutive service not to exceed three years for appointees in Visiting Assistant Professor Programs in Mathematics.

APM 279-20 – Clinical Professor Series, Volunteer Series

The title of this section has been changed to “Conditions of Appointment” to reflect that appointees in this series are volunteers.

APM 360-80 – Librarian Series

This section has been revised to set forth normal periods of service for Librarians at each rank and step to reflect periods consistent with those set forth for unit members in the MOU between UC and University Council – American Federation of Teachers for the Professional Librarian Unit.

APM 520-4 – Employment of Near Relative

This section has been revised to add child of a domestic partner (same sex or opposite sex) to the definition of near relative.

APM – 765 – Death Payments

This new section has been added to provide for death payments for eligible academic appointees.
