SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT UPDATE – Myers Drive and Rupertus Way Traffic Modifications

Project Description/Location:

In support of the recently opened Town Square pedestrian area (formerly known as Myers Drive loop), located directly east of the Chancellor’s complex, modifications to vehicular traffic directions on Myers Drive and Rupertus Way will soon be in effect. Myers Drive will be permanently changed to one-way northbound traffic and Rupertus Way will be permanently changed to one-way eastbound traffic. Russell Lane will continue to accommodate two-way traffic. This arrangement will create a one-way partial loop that will ease vehicular traffic flow through this portion of the University Center area of campus.

Parking lots P408, P409 and P412 will remain accessible via the route described above. Access to parking lot P405 will not be affected.

Immediate Street Impacts:

Beginning Saturday, March 21, 2009, and continuing through Friday, March 27, 2009, workmen will be installing traffic signs and re-striping Myers Drive and Rupertus Way. Although all areas will remain accessible during the work, flagmen and traffic control measures will be in place to facilitate the work and access as required.

Please see attached area map at: http://www.fdc.ucsd.edu/alerts/files/TownSquare_Traffic_Modifications_030609.pdf
