SUBJECT:    Tools for Identifying Potential Collaborators

In connection with the funding opportunities in the economic stimulus package, many researchers have asked if the Office of Research Affairs (ORA) could provide information on researchers who may have particular types of expertise, or otherwise assist in the formation of teams that could successfully compete for this funding. This notice announces two mechanisms for assisting researchers in building such teams.

One mechanism is the creation of listserves that will be moderated by ORA. These listserves will offer a forum for researchers to connect with one another informally. To sign up for any of the listserves, please go to the Resources Toolkit page.

We are also offering researchers the opportunity to use Research Intelligence, a platform developed by Calit2 that provides a dynamic environment for collaboration. Instructions for including information about your research in this database may also be accessed from the Resources Toolkit page at http://research.ucsd.edu/stimulustoolkit.html

Feedback on these pilot initiatives is welcome and may be sent to Barbara Perry at bperry@ucsd.edu. Good luck in your attempts to secure funding through the economic stimulus package, and please let us know if we can assist in any other ways.
