SUBJECT:	Retirement of Linda Dale, Assistant Vice Chancellor for
	Contract and Grant Administration

After almost 30 years with UC San Diego, Linda Dale, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA), will retire effective May 30, 2009. Linda served as Director of Contract and Grant Administration from July 1, 1996 until July 1, 2007, at which time she assumed the title of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Contract and Grant Administration. We are truly grateful for Linda's many contributions to contract and grant matters, and for her exemplary stewardship of this significant research administration enterprise.

In the coming weeks, we will begin a national search for Linda's successor. Lynelle Gehrke, OCGA Assistant Director, has agreed to serve as Interim Director.

Please join me in thanking Linda for her many valuable contributions to UCSD and for her years of dedicated service to the University community. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
