SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT – Parking Lot 405 Project

Project Description/Location:

Parking Lot 405 is located on the North West corner of Rupertus and Russell Lanes in the University Center area. This area currently is a vacant dirt lot.

The project will add an additional 12 new standard parking spaces, as well as 6 new parking spaces that will comply with ADA parking requirements. Access to the project will be from Russell Lane. The work will consist of earthwork grading and shaping, and construction of new parking lot areas and will include new parking lot lighting, and new landscaping.

Immediate Impacts:

Beginning August 5, 2009, temporary construction fencing will be erected around the perimeter of the work areas for public safety. Vehicular traffic on Russell and Rupertus Lanes will not be impacted. The pedestrian sidewalk along this lot will be closed for about 3 weeks during the earthwork phase, and pedestrians will be directed to use the other side of the street.

There will be no impact to buses during this construction.
