Annual Open Enrollment Period

The Annual Benefits Open Enrollment begins at 8:00 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010 and ends at 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 23, 2010.

UC is making significant changes in medical plans, thus you are encouraged to review the information carefully that you have received, or will receive in the mail at your home address. Full details on your health insurance choices for 2011 are available at the Open Enrollment website at: http://atyourservice.ucop.edu/open_enrollment/. The website includes information on the new medical plans, summaries of plans, premium costs, tools to help you choose the right medical plan for you, and much more.

Open Enrollment is the time to enroll or re-enroll in the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), which allow you to set aside funds to pay for health and/or dependent care while providing tax savings. You must enroll in FSAs during Open Enrollment to participate in 2011, even if you are currently enrolled.

Open Enrollment is also the time to enroll your children up to age 26 in your plans.

Representatives from the various health insurance plans will be available to meet with faculty and staff at the Price Center Ballroom East on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to answer questions, provide additional information if needed, and discuss plan details. Representatives will also be available to meet with UCSD retirees that afternoon at the Retiree Resource Center.
