SUBJECT: Colleges Rock Hunger Food Donation Competition

On October 6-22, 2010, UC San Diego will participate in the Colleges Rock Hunger food donation competition against SDSU, CSUSM, and USD. Colleges Rock Hunger is the kick-off food drive for the holiday season, providing nourishment for San Diego families in need. The college donating the most pounds of food will win.

SDSU’s Engineering Department has apparently challenged the Jacobs School of Engineering to see who can raise the most food. Are we up for the challenge?

Donate nonperishable food at any of the on-campus donation locations below. If you are a shuttle rider, special donation days are October 13 and 21, when drop-off bins will be at the Gilman and Mandeville shuttle stops. You can text a $10 donation to sdfood ucsd (that’s sdfood [space] ucsd) or you can donate at the virtual food drive online at http://blink.ucsd.edu/go/rockhunger.

$1=3 meals =3.84 lbs of food! Talk about value for your donation! Donate at the food drive! Challenge your friends to donate! Get your club involved! Let’s show everyone how much heart UC San Diego has!

If you have questions or want to host a donation bin, contact Krista Mays at kmays@ucsd.edu.
