CAMPUS NOTICE

OFFICE OF THE CONTROLLER

December 14, 2010

ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF (excluding UCSD Medical Center)

SUBJECT:    Perishable and FedEx/UPS Priority Deliveries during the Campus Closure

During the campus closure spanning December 18 through January 2, 2011, most campus buildings are locked. To avoid delay of your priority and perishable deliveries, FedEx and UPS joins the campus in a solution that we anticipate supports your research and/or critical activities during the closure.

If your package is addressed to be sent directly to an on-campus address be aware that both FedEx and UPS will be delivering only to those buildings that are open and accessible. Any package or flat that can't be delivered will be routed to UCSD Receiving/Distribution located at 7835 Trade Street Suite 100, San Diego, CA 92121.

Recipients with a valid campus address and email address will be sent an e-mail advising them that their package is at Receiving/Distribution. If the item is marked perishable, one attempt will be made to deliver the item. This will necessitate that the package be re-iced.

For any priority (express) package, you have the following delivery choices: the same day, the next day, pick up the item at Receiving/Distribution, or wait until January 3, 2011 when all services revert to normal delivery. Deliveries will take place December 20 - 22 and December 27 - 29. During the closure, please contact Tim Wheeler before 2:30 each business day at 858-536-3225, ext. 241 or twheeler@ucsd.edu to arrange delivery.

FedEx will service the drop boxes at the following locations:
- CNCB/GPL Loading Dock (previously called CMG)
- Pacific Hall Drop Box

UPS will service the drop box at the following location:
- Moores UCSD Cancer Ctr, 3855 Health Sciences Drive, 2nd Floor next to room 2250
