CONSTRUCTION ALERT - East Campus Road Work to Start 12/20/10

Project Description/Location

The East Campus Master Plan utility and infrastructure upgrade construction is scheduled to commence on Monday December 20, 2010. Upgrades include improvements to the following: normal and emergency power, telecommunications, chilled, domestic water and reclaimed water, storm drain, and gas service. Roadway improvements included in the Master Plan will include road widening, sidewalks and campus lighting. The utility and road work construction will be a multi-phased work effort that will consist of varying lane closures throughout the East Campus. Medical Center Drive (North) will remain open and signage will be posted during the construction process directing pedestrian and vehicle access throughout the campus. Flagmen will be provided during key construction transition times to ensure emergency vehicle and patient access to the Medical Center.

Various phases of infrastructure and roadwork construction along Medical Center Drive (North) will continue thru 2011. Additional notifications will be provided for major logistical shifts during the upcoming months.

Immediate Street Impacts

Beginning Monday, December 20, 2010 a portion of the north lane of Medical Center Drive will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will remain available for those traveling from lot P702.
