Undergraduate Research Conference Nominations

I am writing to invite your nomination of outstanding students to participate in the Twenty-Third Annual UCSD Undergraduate Research Conference that will be held on Saturday, April 24, at the UCSD Faculty Club.

At the conference, students will have the unique opportunity to present their research papers, experiments or other projects at small, informal roundtable discussion groups moderated by a member of the faculty. Last year, more than 140 students presented their work and found it to be a very challenging and rewarding experience.

The conference supports the scholarly and creative aspirations of undergraduate students and provides them increased opportunities for intellectual recognition and encouragement at UCSD. All students whom you nominate will receive the honor of being invited to participate. Presenters will attend the conference, interact with faculty and students, enjoy a catered breakfast, buffet lunch and each receive a certificate recognizing their achievements in research.

If you would like to nominate one or more (up to three) of your top students to participate in the Twenty-Third Annual UCSD Undergraduate Research Conference, simply complete the attached form at:

Please consider as well serving as a roundtable Presider at this event or at the Faculty Mentor Symposium from 5:30-9 pm on Wednesday, May 26. The Symposium features undergraduates presenting their original research, in this case, students who have completed two quarters of 199 course work through the Faculty Mentor Program. Your attendance at or participation in either or both of these events provides vital support to the growing prestige of serious undergraduate research at UC San Diego.
