AND RISK MANAGEMENT March 4, 2010
ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (Excluding UCSD Medical Center)
Although work-related injuries are not an everyday occurrence within individual work units at UC San Diego, it is important to know where to seek medical treatment when a work-related injury does occur. We realize the potential for concerns and uncertainty following a work-related injury and the need to quickly access care. To ensure prompt and well coordinated attention in the event of an injury, UC San Diego employees must seek medical treatment at one of two UC San Diego Center for Occupational & Environmental Medicine (COEM) clinics, unless the incident requires emergency care (911) or treatment is needed after COEM hours of operation. Use the COEM clinic most convenient to your work location, main campus or Hillcrest:
· NEW LOCATION COEM – Campus location
· COEM – Hillcrest location The Nobel Shuttle comes within about 2 blocks from the clinic - corner of Lebon and Nobel. Information regarding where to seek treatment for a work-related injury and how to report a work-related injury is available at: http://blink.ucsd.edu/safety/occupational/reporting.html If you have any questions, please contact Susan Johnston, Workers’ Compensation Program Manager, at (858) 534-0136 or sjohnston@ucsd.edu. Thank you for your attention to this important information.
