CONSTRUCTION ALERT - East Campus Parking Structure

Project Description/Location:
The Contractor for this Project will begin to mobilize on site starting July 26th, 2010. The site is west of Campus Point Drive and north of Medical Center Drive North where the archery range was located. See attached map. This 470,000 square foot facility will provide 1230 parking spaces and is actually two connected parking structures. The east structure will have a soccer/sports field at grade level with two levels of parking underneath and be reserved for staff parking. The west structure will be 5 levels of parking with one level above grade and the remaining levels built into the slope of the canyon. The west structure will be used for patient and visitor parking. The Contractor will first erect a site fence, bring in construction trailers, and clear some landscaping.

Immediate Impacts:
To minimize street impacts at the Medical Center the main point of entrance and exit to the site will be through the west edge of Parking Lot #702 and onto Voigt Drive. There may be some impacts on Voigt Drive a few weeks into the schedule as mass excavation and earth export begins. Flagmen will be present on Voigt Drive to minimize any disruption to the flow of traffic.
