CONSTRUCTION ALERT - Construction and Site Improvements for J. Craig Venter Institute on Torrey Pines Road

Project Description/Location:
Beginning on or about October 17, 2011 and continuing through July 2013, construction of site improvements and building construction for the J. Craig Venter Institute facility on Torrey Pines Road will occur.

The J. Craig Venter Institute on Torrey Pines Road will be a third party ground lease project under the management of J. Craig Venter Institute on the vacant University-owned property located on the west side of Torrey Pines Road immediately north of the City of San Diego's Allen Field.

The J. Craig Venter Institute facility will consist of biological research laboratories, collaborative science spaces, offices, support space, and conference/meeting rooms, and an underground parking structure.

Immediate Impacts:
The main entry/exit for the construction site and staging area will be off Expedition Way. Intermittent impact to vehicular traffic on Expedition Way, North Torrey Pines and Torrey Pines Roads should be anticipated. On these occasions flagmen or other traffic control will be evident. No impact to vehicular traffic on the main campus is anticipated.
