ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD (Including UCSD Healthcare)
I am pleased to announce several Celebration of Abilities Awareness Month events and encourage the UC San Diego community to participate. The purpose of these activities is to increase the awareness of, and sensitivity to the abilities and needs of people with disabilities at UC San Diego. Events include: - Celebration of Abilities Live Entertainment/Comedy Fest - Oct. 4, 11:30 a.m., Price Center Plaza, and Oct. 5, 11:30 a.m., area between Torrey Pines Centers North and South - Screening of "Rolling" and panel discussion - Oct. 11, 5:30 p.m., Medical Education and Telemedicine (MET) Building, Main Auditorium - "In Your Shoes: A Social Justice Lens - Dialogue on Activities, Access and the Environment" panel and learning experience - Oct. 25, noon, Price Center West, Eleanor Roosevelt College Room. Therefore, supervisors may grant employees two hours of administrative leave as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
