Proposed Revisions to PPM 135-3, Network Security Policy

The University invites comments on proposed revisions to PPM 135-3 by December 2, 2011. The proposed revision is available online at:

Changes include:
• Updated list of applicable federal and state regulations
• Modernized technology language and definitions
• Clarified language to note that the policy includes wireless as well as wired   equipment and services; include examples where appropriate; and explain   longstanding scanning and blocking practices
• Added section VI.G. on Remote Access

All comments received will be evaluated and, as appropriate, incorporated into the policy. Comments should be emailed to Valerie Polichar at ppm1353@ucsd.edu no later than Friday, December 2, 2011.
