SUBJECT:

Transfer, Consolidation, Disestablishment, and Discontinuance (TCDD) of Academic Programs at UC San Diego

Dear Colleagues:

The Senate Council recently considered two TCDD actions recommended by the 2010-11 Committee on Educational Policy.

In accordance with the Division's Policy and Procedures, http://senate.ucsd.edu/manual/Appendices/Appendix4.pdf, the 2010-11 Committee on Educational Policy and the appropriate Ad Hoc Review Committee had considered proposals to:

o Transfer the International Studies Program to the Graduate School of International    Relations and Pacific Studies

o Disestablish the Engineering Sciences major in the Department of Mechanical and    Aerospace Engineering

Both CEP and the Ad Hoc Review Committee recommended approval of these proposals. At its meeting on October 3, the Senate Council agreed and unanimously approved both TCDD actions.
