ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UCSD
As part of UC San Diego’s annual recognition of our founding, we will award the Chancellor’s Medal in conjunction with our celebration of Founders’ Day, November 18, 2011. I encourage your nomination of visionaries whose impact on UC San Diego has resulted in the institution’s rise to prominence. The Chancellor's Medal is one of the highest honors given by UC San Diego for exceptional service in support of the university’s mission. It has only been awarded 10 times since the medal was conceived in 2000. The medal is to be awarded each year as the campus celebrates Founders’ Day. Nominees must have a connection with the University; however, current employees are not eligible for the medal. Nominators must have an association with UC San Diego. Further guidelines and the nomination form can be found at http://50th.ucsd.edu/events/nomination.php. The deadline for nominations is May 2, 2011. Nominations received after May 2 will be considered for the following year.
