Notice of Meeting - May 24, 2011 Representative Assembly

Dear Colleagues:

Our sixth and last meeting of the 2010 - 2011 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24 at 3:30 p.m., in Leichtag Building Conference Room. The Notice of Meeting (agenda) and all pertinent documents may be found on the Senate's Web page at:

SPECIAL DISCUSSION TOPICS: The Assembly will continue discussion of the upcoming budget reductions, and Executive Vice Chancellor Suresh Subramani will present information about Academic Affairs' approach to the 2011-12 budget. In addition, three informational committee reports are scheduled. The Committee on Academic Freedom will provide an update on the state of academic freedom at UCSD. The Committee on Admissions will report on this year's use of comprehensive and holistic admissions review processes. The Committee on Educational Policy will present a revised policy on distance and remote learning.

Under regular business, the Committee on Extended Studies and Public Service and the Committee on Faculty Welfare are proposing changes to their governing Divisional Bylaws.
