UC San Diego Staff Association’s Annual All Staff Picnic

On behalf of the UC San Diego Staff Association, I am pleased to invite you to the annual All Staff Picnic on Friday, August 19, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Town Square. The theme of this year’s picnic is “Good, Clean Fun” and will feature carnival games and live music that will evoke summertime and the beach.

Because of the financial challenges facing our campus, this year’s event will be noticeably scaled back. However, thanks to the continued support from the Executive Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellors, we will provide a complimentary lunch through UC San Diego Housing · Dining · Hospitality to the first 3,600 staff members who order their free tickets through the UC San Diego Box Office; ticket holders will be eligible for donated door prizes at the picnic.

All staff members are encouraged to join us for this appreciation event and to enjoy the fun activities. In order to attend the picnic, I am approving two hours of administrative leave with pay, and I ask supervisors to allow employees to attend, as long as the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.

I would like to thank the UC San Diego Staff Association and this year’s volunteer Planning Committee for their hard work to organize this enjoyable annual event. More information about the picnic may be found on Blink.
