The University is proposing to revise Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM) 34 Incentive and Recognition Award Plans - Managers and Senior Professionals and Professional and Support Staff. Incentive awards are cash awards that are intended to motivate individuals or teams to produce results that have been pre-defined and communicated to participants in advance in accordance with an incentive award plan, and to award them for achieving the stated performance objectives. Recognition awards are discretionary cash awards that are intended to recognize and reward excellence in University service, significant achievements and contributions, and outstanding individual and team performance. The University is also proposing to implement the Staff Appreciation and Recognition (STAR) Plan which will be governed by the above-described policy on "Incentive and Recognition Award Plans - Managers and Senior Professionals and Professional and Support Staff." The proposed STAR Plan sets forth the plan's purpose; oversight; approval requirements; eligibility criteria; performance standards; award limits and restrictions; and administrative provisions, requirements and procedures. Union represented employees' participation in the STAR plan is subject to collective bargaining.
