Faculty Budget Education Workshop
A Basic Introduction

The workshop will follow the regular business of the October 23rd Representative Assembly meeting that begins at 3:30 p.m.

*Higher Education Budget Cuts and Prop 30
*New Structure of the UC Budget
*The UCSD Budget
*UC and UCSD Budget & Planning Process

In the wake of the new Funding Streams Initiative that has changed how funds flow to UC campuses, the announcement by Chancellor Khosla of a campus-wide Strategic Planning Initiative, and the placing of Proposition 30 on the November 6th ballot, it seems opportune to host a workshop for faculty on the financial challenges facing our campus and the workings of the budget & planning process. It will consist of a 45- minute presentation by Roddey Reid, Chair, Committee on Planning and Budget, and committee members followed by a Q & A session.
