KEY ADMINISTRATORS/KEY SUPPORT STAFF
All UC San Diego Library facilities (the Geisel Library, the Biomedical Library, and the SIO Archives and Library Annex) will be closed from Saturday, December 22, 2012, through Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Library facilities will reopen Wednesday, January 2, 2013. The Library's Hours web pages, (http://libraries.ucsd.edu/hours/index.html), have been updated to reflect hours for both before and after the holiday closure. Many online resources, including databases and electronic journals, will remain accessible during the closure. Students, faculty and staff can access library-licensed resources during the closure via the campus proxy server or VPN, (http://libraries.ucsd.edu/help/computing/remote-access.html). Instructors who plan to offer library-supported course reserves during Winter Quarter 2013 should submit their requests NOW to allow sufficient time for processing and posting in advance of the quarter. Use the online form, (http://libraries.ucsd.edu/reserves/guide), to submit requests. Requests are processed in the order received. NOTE: Requests submitted after December 21, 2012 may not be available for student use until after Winter quarter instruction has begun. More information about library services during the closure including reference assistance, book returns and renewals, and ILL, can be found at: http://libraries.ucsd.edu/about/winter2012.html.
