SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT UPDATE – Jacobs Medical Center Central Plant

Project Description/Location:

The Jacobs Medical Center Central Plant project will begin construction efforts onsite starting Monday May 21, 2012. The project site is located south of the East Campus Office Building along Medical Center Drive. This 40,000 square foot facility will provide many of the support utilities for the new Jacobs Medical Center Bed Tower and the existing Thornton Hospital. The structure will be built into the slope of the canyon and includes improvements to Medical Center Drive. Initial construction efforts will include site grading, soil removal and utility work. The new structure is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2014.

Immediate Street Impacts:

Medical Center Drive will be closed to public traffic to allow the team to complete utility and roadway improvements. All patients, visitors and staff should utilize Campus Point Drive as the main access point to the campus in lieu of Medical Center Drive.
