SUBJECT:    CONSTRUCTION ALERT - Construction and Site Utility Work at Tioga Hall and Scholar’s Drive South

Project Description/Location:

Beginning on or about May 14, 2012 and continuing through August 31, 2012 construction will occur consisting of the installation of a wet fire sprinkler system and removal of the existing dry fire sprinkler system for Tioga Hall. Work includes the installation of associated underground utilities, hardscape and the installation of related fire alarm work and data upgrades to Tioga Hall. Additionally, exterior repairs to the building concrete will also be undertaken. Fencing for the staging area is planned around the existing building and courtyard areas.

Immediate Developments:

Phase 1: Utility work in the west lane of Scholars Drive South at Tioga Hall is planned to begin on May 14, 2012, This Phase 1 will include a tap into the existing water main line. During this time one lane of traffic will be closed. Flagmen will be provided and additional signage will be posted so that buses, cars and cyclists can navigate through the work areas. MTS buses and Campus shuttle services will not be impacted.

Phase 2: Work within and around Tioga Hall is planned to begin on June 18, 2012 and continue through August 31, 2012. During this time period construction fencing will be installed around Tioga Hall area.
